Newest Deviations

This is just a little preview of my latest art, be it fantasy or (most likely) my 'I'm a Pig' Comic series. I hope you enjoy my deviations as much as I do and favorite any you fancy. You can leave a comment if you want, but a favorite is just as good! I do like getting critiques though because they help me improve! Thank you for all your support and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Some quotes for you:

"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." - Benjamin Franklin
"Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very'; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be." - Mark Twain
"When writing a novel a writer should create living people; people not characters. A character is a caricature." - Ernest Hemingway
"Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation." - Graham Green
"If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.” - Stephen King
“So avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys - to woo women - and, in that endeavor, laziness will not do. It also won’t do in your essays.” - N. H. Kleinbaum
"Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it." - C.S. Lewis
"Not everyone thinks the way you think, knows the things you know, believes the things you believe, nor acts the way you would act. Remember this and you will go a long way in getting along with people." - Arthur Forman
"God has no religion." -Gandhi
"Worry is a misuse of your imagination." - unknown
"Religion is a man-made invention. Many confuse what it means to have faith and have religion, but they are two totally different things. When we realize that our essence has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a connection to all that is, we no longer feel compelled to practice our faith anywhere but in our heart. This is our perspective and we welcome yours." - unknown
"Energy and persistence conquer all things." - Benjamin Franklin

I don't like to ask for things, but I know it'll be awhile before I can just toss money at points or llamas. I won't ask for the latter, but if you ever want to spare a point or two, I'd greatly appreciate it. Please, follow the link below.

I LOVE ASSASSIN'S CREED

Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent.
Hide in plain sight.
Never compromise the Brotherhood.
Nothing is true; everything is permitted.
Embrace contradiction, that one may be two things – opposite in every way – simultaneously.
Our Creed does not command us to be free. It commands us to be wise.

Okay:

I have finished writing, editing, rewriting, editing, rewriting, editing, and rewriting my novel.

I have educated myself on the art of queries and I have written, edited, rewritten, edited, rewritten, edited, and rewritten my query.

I have researched and narrowed down a list of possible publishers.

I have read each of their guidelines, educated myself on their past publications, and written, edited, rewritten, edited, and rewritten three synopsis of varying lengths as well as composed a biography.

I have composed a list of these possible publishers which contains their contact information, guidelines, past novels they have done which are similar to mine, and expected response time.

I am literally as physically ready to send out my queries as a person can possibly be.

WHY HAVEN'T I SENT OUT MY QUERY YET?!?!?!

I am so scared shit-less right now. (Yes, a very eloquent bit of speech there.)

I have written a lot of stories. I've posted online. I've had followers. I've done well or at least okay. I've even been approached by small-time editors for a couple of my online stories, though at the time I was not a mature enough writer to have been of any use to them. I SHOULD have more confidence than this, but I don't.

My boyfriend and my dad (both my biggest cheerleaders who have pushed me and egged me on for the past four years at least now on this particular story alone) are getting frustrated with me and it's no wonder.

I am DONE.

I have waited all this time to finally have a story worthwhile enough to be published. I have worked hard to perfect my writing and this should be the final leg off the journey towards publications. (What happens after publication is an entirely different ballgame.)

Why am I stalling?

I am scared shit-less. I am so afraid of failure. I am so afraid of, I guess, not fitting in with the rest of the big time writers who managed to get a book out there. The expectations are high from my family. They think what I have is gold, but I can't agree.

Yes, what I have written is good. I know this for a fact. The plot is compelling. The characters are interesting, believable, and likable. The threat is real. Everything in the story comes together well. It works as a good novel.

But I still question: is it a great novel? Is it a fantastic novel? Is it even worthy of publication?

My self-doubt will be my undoing, but until I gather up enough confidence I'm going to have a hard time pushing forward.

Critiques

I have to say I honestly like this series the most of all the comics I read on DA. I understand what the main character is going throug...

I'm doing much better now. I'm still stressed with life, but that's normal I guess. :)
