I am home!

Well, actually, I've been home since yesterday, but it's been busy. We got lost in San Francisco and I swore we were going to get stuck spending the night because my boyfriend and I were frustrating the hell out of each other. Then we finally make it over the Golden Gate and we hit every sort of traffic before realizing we can drive in the carpool lane...yeah...no further comment on that. Finally, we make it home and we've been up since the birds. We're exhausted, but then our puppy greets us and I'm not tired anymore. A few hours later and we've all crashed only to wake up super early (eight is ridiculously early for me). I've been up since grocery shopping, playing with the puppy, going to a birthday party for my best friend, drinking virgin margaritas, and getting my Skyrim fix. Now I'm at work and, oh, no! I haven't taken a nap and somehow have to keep myself up until eight in the morning...meaning by eight tomorrow I'll have been up for the past twenty-four hours. EEEK!

Still, I'm so excited to be home, I don't even really care! I'm back in California! Woohoo!

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Kansas...or Iowa...or Missouri...or Texas...or Michigan...or South Carolina...or Colorado...or any of the states where all of my family happens to live, but I was born and raised in a desert and, while I'm not living in a desert anymore, I definitely prefer dry heat. The mugginess, the unexpected storms, the bugs the size of rats...not really my thing...but I will have to say: HOLY GREEN! I was expecting Kansas to look exactly like California (for whatever silly reason) and I was shocked by all of this greenery, which met me! There was living grass and trees and bushes and shrubs and flowers! Here, almost all of the grass is, as my boyfriend likes to call it, yellow. I like to say it's golden, but that's just me. And we have predominantly oaks around here, which I don't mind, but my boyfriend says aren't really all that nice looking (I think they look fine). Pretty boring if you're comparing it to green every which direction you look! I'm happy for hills again though and for my house and my bed and my computer and my xbox and my puppy and not waking up to take nieces and nephews to school...sigh...this is the life!

Anyways, wish me luck on staying awake and hopefully I won't leave California for awhile...unless, I'm going to Oregon and I can take my puppy with me. :D
